PM Rowley: Discussions With Venezuelan VP Solely On COVID-19

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley says the context of the discussions with Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez during her recent visit to T&T was based solely on the National Security implications surrounding COVID-19.

During the Prime Minister’s Questions in the House of Representatives on Friday, Dr. Rowley was asked to indicate whether any medical personnel or the Minister of Health was present during the meeting with the Vice President.

The Prime Minister confirmed that the Minister of National Security, Stuart Young, and the Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Dennis Moses, were both present.

Dr. Rowley said the discussion was necessary as this country is seven miles away from Venezuela.
