PM Rowley Meets With Venezuelan Ambassador

Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Rowley, met with Venezuela’s Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, Carlos Amador Perez Silva, at the Diplomatic Centre today.

The meeting focussed on issues related to national security, immigration and COVID-19.

Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Senator Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of National Security, Stuart Young, and Chief of the Consular Section at the Venezuelan Embassy, Mr. Ricardo Sánchez, were also present at the meeting.

The meeting comes in the wake of the recent drownings in Venezuelan waters of more than 20 migrants and statements by Opposition politicians in Venezuela, who accused Trinidad and Tobago of mistreating migrants seeking to enter this country illegally.
