Police investigating shooting in Carapichaima

Police are investigating a shooting in Carapichaima where a high-powered rifle was used.

The homeowner escaped death and serious injuries.
Police said they recovered 22 spent 5.56mm shells at the scene.
A police report stated around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, when the victim was asleep at his home along Orange Field Road. He was awakened by a series of loud gunshots, followed by the sound of glass breaking.
Fearing for his safety, he quickly took cover.

When the gunfire stopped, the victim found his home riddled with bullet holes, with damage to two windows, a wall, and a plastic water tank on the southern side of the property.

Officers from the Central Division were called to the scene, and PC Dickson is continuing investigations.
