Preschool principal dies after accident
Preschool Principal Pamela Idemudia died after being knocked down while crossing the road.
Idemudia, affectionately called ‘Aunty Pam’, was hit by a vehicle along the Point Fortin Main Road on Wednesday.
According to police reports, Idemudia was with a 64-year-old friend and they were attempting to cross the roadway near the South West Regional Indoor Sports Arena, when around 11:55am that day, the driver of a Toyota Fielder Wagon lost control of his vehicle.
The car skidded on the roadway and hit the two women as they were crossing.
The police and emergency health services were notified and the injured women were taken to the Point Fortin Hospital where they were treated.
Idemudia was later transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital.
However, she died on Thursday while undergoing treatment.
Her friend has since been discharged from hospital.
The 39-year-old driver of the wagon is said to be aiding police with their investigations.
