Public Prosecutor summoned Edmundo González for this August 26
He Public Prosecutor’s Office He posted a summons to his Instagram account for opposition leader Edmundo González to give a statement in connection with the investigation against him, for the accusations he has made following the results of the presidential elections in Venezuela.
In the document, they explain that the politician must appear at the headquarters of the entity on Monday, August 26 at 10:00 am.
Last Friday, Tarek William SaabAttorney General of the Republic, spoke about this summons.
In the information they published, they indicated that González will have to give statements for his alleged responsibility in the crimes of: usurpation of functions, forgery of public documents, instigation to disobedience of the law, computer crimes, criminal association and conspiracy.
“González Urrutia will also have to answer for the publication of forged documents through the website www.resultadosconvenezuela.com,” they added.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the former opposition candidate “incurred in a clear contempt and disrespect for the Supreme Court of Justice, by not responding to the calls made by the electoral chamber.”
Edmundo González did not go to the TSJ with the minutes, as he has insisted that the entity should not assume the functions of a National Electoral Council. «Sovereignty resides untransferably in the people. The organs of the State emanate from popular sovereignty and are subject to it. They will not usurp the truth.» he commented this Friday.
