San Souci man charged with Tobago jewelry store robbery
A 21-year-old man from San Souci Bay was apprehended and charged in connection with the armed robbery at a jewelry store located at Low Lands Mall, Tobago.
Police say Kino Caldero, appeared before Master De Silva on Monday charged with ‘robbery with aggravation’. He was granted bail in the sum of $250,000, with surety or a cash alternative of $25,000.
Additionally, the court imposed a nightly curfew on Caldero, restricting his movements from 6pm to 6am.
According to reports, the incident occurred on August 14, when two men disguised in construction attire and armed with firearms, entered the store and carried out the robbery.
Officers from the Tobago Division, Criminal Investigations Department (CID), conducted an investigation into the incident, with support from officers at the La Horquetta Police Station in Trinidad. These efforts led to the arrest of the accused.
The TTPS said the apprehension of the second suspect allegedly involved in this incident remains a high priority and they’re asking anyone with further information related to this case to contact the Tobago Division CID or their nearest police station.
