The suspect who allegedly kidnapped a 12-year-old boy after reportedly attacking his mother was reportedly sighted at a house in Long Circular by residents.

However, he quickly disappeared by the time residents attempted to contact the police.

This information was released yesterday by officers, as they continued the hunt for the suspect involved in the attack on a mother and son in Dibe, Long Circular.

Police said last Friday that the 33-year-old suspect allegedly took the boy, Princemerci Burke, with him as he fled into the forested hills after allegedly stabbing the boy’s mother, Anna Innis-Burke.

Innis-Burke, 41, was dragged out of her house around 3 am by a man she shared a six-month relationship with and was forced to walk along Belle Vue Road, where she was stabbed multiple times in her left leg and back.

The attacker allegedly vowed to kill the woman’s last child, Princemerci. However, Innis-Burke was rescued by a passing motorist.

The suspect reportedly took the boy and fled into the hills near Long Circular. The 12-year-old managed to escape on Friday evening after being held captive for over 14 hours.

Last week, Assistant Commissioner of Police Curt Simon assured that law enforcement officials were utilising all available measures to locate the suspect, including drones and the K-9 Unit.
