Soca Warriors return to Dwight Yorke Stadium | Local Sports

  • Sep, Thu, 2024

Should Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca return from Cuba with a positive result, the 2024-2025 CONCACAF Nations League campaign, or whether they stay up or are relegated to League B, will depend on a late-night match at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Tobago.

According to October fixtures released yesterday by CONCACAF, T&T are due to host the Cubans on Monday October 14 at the Dwight Yorke in Bacolet from 9 p.m. It will be a second meeting between the teams in four days to end the preliminary round of qualifying.

The Soca Warriors will first take on the Cubans on October 10 at the Estadio Antonio Maceo, in Santiago, Cuba, with the kick-off carded for 4 p.m.

T&T are currently bottom of Group A of League A, with a single point gained from a goalless home draw against French Guiana on September 10, having lost their opener 4-0 away to Honduras. However, with all the teams closely bunched on the points table, back-to-back victories over Cuba could propel T&T right up the table.
