Suspension of flights to Peru, Panama and the Dominican Republic affects thousands of passengers

Vicky Herrera, president of the Venezuelan Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (Avavit), indicated that after the Suspension of flights between Peru, the Dominican Republic and Panama with Venezuela have been forced to cancel at least 95 weekly flights, affecting approximately 15,000 passengers.

In an interview with Unión Radio, he explained that Colombia is currently positioned as the main destination among international routes because it is used as a base for making subsequent connections and traveling to other countries, given the suspension.

Given the suspension of flights, especially to Panama, Venezuelan travelers have faced many difficulties in finding flights and airlines that will take them to their final destination.

“It is an extremely difficult and complicated operation, which means more expenses, overnight stays and delays in time,” said Herrera.

Are flights to Spain suspended?

Regarding the latest statements by the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, regarding the warning of suspension of flights with Spain, the president of Avavit clarified that There is no notification of any kind indicating that flights have been modified or suspended.

“Flights are still operating,” he said.

However, he said that if the measure were to be implemented, 21 weekly flights would be cancelled.

Currently, international destinations departing from Venezuela are Colombia, Curacao, Spain, Turkey, Portugal, Barbados, Mexico, Chile and Trinidad and Tobago.
