‘Sweet sweet T&T’: Celebrating our 62nd Independence anniversary

  • Sep, Sun, 2024

Independence Day 2024 was nothing short of patriotic as the young and young at heart came out to the Queens Park Savannah on Saturday morning to herald in the country’s 62nd anniversary of becoming an independent state.

Citizens, especially the children were in for nothing short of a treat as members of the country’s Defense Force including the Regiment, Prisons, Fire and Police Service showcased splendid precision drills and parades along with the ever-popular Mounted and Canine Branch.

The National Flag was also featured quite prominently as if in a gesture to wave away if even for a moment, all of the negativity that’s been plaguing the country in recent times.

The brave smiles of the children as they were lifted and held by officers also served as a reminder that trust is important and alongside law and order, we stand to remain a ‘sweet, sweet T&T.’
