Tabaquite robbery suspect arrested in Morvant
One man is in police custody on suspicion of robbery which took place on Tuesday.
Guardian Media understands that on Wednesday (September 4, 2024), officers of the Morvant Criminal Investigations Department received information concerning a report of kidnapping and robbery that had taken place in the Tabaquite district.
The officers proceeded to Angeline Street, Morvant, in the vicinity of an abandoned cemetery and recovered a white Nissan Panel Van which had been taken away during the robbery.
According to police reports, few minutes after discovering the vehicle, the officers received further information which led them to a track off Granado Street, Morvant. There, in a blue, flat concrete structure, they discovered an assortment of milk, juice, energy drinks, soft drinks and cigarettes—items believed to have been stolen during the robbery.
A 25-year-old man from Garrick Street, Second Caledonia, Morvant, was arrested and taken to the station.
Officers processing the scene recovered other evidence related to the case. The panel van was towed, and the recovered items were taken to the Morvant Police Station for processing.
Investigations are ongoing.
