The SNTP demands the release of detained journalists and reporters

The National Union of Press Workers (SNTP) reported this Saturday that there are 13 journalists and employees in this field detained for political reasons, in the context of the recent release of some political prisoners.

«This November 16 they have released several of those detained in the context of the post-election protests, but The union of press workers is still missing 13«, reads in one SNTP publication.

“We demand that the Public Ministry release the journalists and press workers unjustly imprisoned,” added the union organization.

Among the detained journalists are Ana Carolina Guaita, Roland Carreño, José Camero, Biagio Pilieri, Gabriel González, Luis López, Carlos Julio Rojas and Ramón Centeno.

Photojournalists also remain imprisoned Fernando Chuecos, Yousner Alvarado, Deisy Peña; and Paul Leoncameraman; and Gilberto Reinaeditor of La Sapa del Orinoco.
