Machado denounces threats against refugees at the Argentine Embassy

Opposition leader María Corina Machado denounced this Wednesday that more than 20 officials from Maduro’s government appeared at the diplomatic headquarters in five patrols and civilian vehicles and They threatened the asylum seekers with breaking into the building.

“These actions of the regime intensify a state of siege in this area of ​​Caracas, against the asylum seekers and the neighboring houses, all victims of the siege and violence by these organizations,” Machado expressed in his X account.

And he added: «The regime has turned the diplomatic residence into a prison, in front of the eyes of the world, violating all international agreements. “This is the same terror that they have used against citizens, activists and all those who fight for truth and freedom.”

Machado made another call to Argentina and Brazil to address the situation “with the seriousness it deserves and dedicate all their efforts to achieving safe passage.”

No electricity supply and no water

The six opponents sheltered in the official residence This Wednesday they celebrate 11 days without electricity supplyafter their electricity was cut off on November 23 as part of the growing siege by the Maduro government.

State security agency officials also prohibited tanker trucks from accessing the residence.

The six opponents entered the diplomatic headquarters after the Prosecutor’s Office accused them of crimes such as conspiracy and treason.
