They demand the release of Perkins Rocha
The Human Rights Committee of Vente Venezuela (VV), led by María Corina Machado, demanded this Wednesday the release of Perkins Rochalegal advisor to the majority opposition, grouped in the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), who served 100 days in detention.
On the social network X, Vente Venezuela indicated that Rocha is punished for demanding justice and freedom.
«His family misses him, and Venezuela needs him. “This atrocious act is a reminder of the tireless fight for a free country,” he added.
In September, the attorney general, Tarek William Saab, linked Rocha, along with former deputies Freddy Superlano and Biagio Pilieri – also detained – with the disclosure of 83.5% of the electoral records of the July 28 presidential elections, which the ruling party calls them false.
Saab then said that these opponents are being investigated for endorsing, verifying, disseminating and disclosing as real the website where they were exposed by the PUD thanks to witnesses and table members in the elections, and that the coalition points to as proof of the claimed victory of Edmundo González Urrutia.
The three opponents of Maduro were arrested after the elections, in which the electoral body – controlled by rectors sympathetic to Chavismo – proclaimed the official leader the winner, a result that has not been recognized by numerous countries, which request the publication of the disaggregated votes. , something that has not been done even though it was contemplated in the official schedule.
On November 25, Rocha’s wife, María Costanza Cipriani, reported that the lawyer has been denied the right to appoint a private defense attorney and that she has not been able to visit him in the detention center either.
In August, Cipriani indicated that Rocha was accused of terrorism, treason, conspiracy, criminal association and inciting hatred.
