“This request was now agreed to by the corresponding court, and said young woman is free,” the Prosecutor’s Office indicated.
After the announcement of the release, the NGO Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners stated in X that the released young woman is 16 years old and was “unjustly imprisoned.”
«No child should remain imprisoned. We demand the immediate freedom of all children and adolescents who remain unjustly detained and of all political prisoners in Venezuela,” the organization stated.

I feel like every day everything is getting more and more complicated for me, I don’t want to spend Christmas without my family. Every night I ask God to give me strength and help me, I feel like I can’t take it anymore and that I’m left without strength.«, indicated the young woman in the text sent to her mother.
Mariana González, according to her mother, had the dream of being part of one of the State security forces. However, the suffering she has gone through has made her question her professional future.
The teenager’s words worried Febles. «I don’t want to make you feel bad, but if I can’t be with you, I don’t want to be with anyone. I prefer to die. Sometimes I want to hurt myself (…) I want to kill myself rather than continue suffering«wrote the girl.
Minors detained in post-election protests
