PoliChacao stopped a few days ago to two men, identified as Jean Carlos Veloz Sierra and Ángel Miguel Itriago, who posed as mechanics, to take money from their victims.

According to the director of the municipal police, Luis Gonzalo Fernández, these subjects pose as ordinary passers-by, and shout at drivers that their vehicle has some fault or is leaking oil.

After that, under deception, they tell the victims that they have a workshop nearby, and that there they can help them repair the fault that really does not exist.

In most cases, citizens agree and that is when the criminals begin to materialize their trap.

They act as if they are fixing the fault and then charge you an amount of money in foreign currency to let you go.

Given this situation, from the Chacao Mayor’s Office They call on people to be more attentive to avoid being victims of fake mechanics in the municipality. Likewise, they will strengthen patrols in the municipality to be alert to these events.
