Nicolás Maduro ordered a series of changes in the Armed Forces, keeping Vladimir Padrino López in his functions as Minister of Defense. Likewise, he ratified Domingo Antonio Hernández Lárez as head of the Strategic Operational Command.

Among the new appointments, the appointment of Johan Alexander Hernández Lárez, brother of the head of Ceofanb, as general commander of the Army stands out.

In the Bolivarian Navy, Admiral Ashraf Andel Hadi Suleimán Gutiérrez will take office, while in the Bolivarian Military Aviation, Major General Lenín Lorenzo Ramírez Villasmil will take command.

The major general Elio Ramón Estrada Paredes was ratified as general commander of the Bolivarian National Guard, and Orlando Ramón Romero Bolívar will lead the Bolivarian National Militia.

The Presidential Honor Guard will be led by Javier Marcano Tábata.

New commanders in strategic regions

Maduro also made changes to the commands of the Strategic Comprehensive Defense Regions (REDI), which are administrative divisions within the Armed Forces. They were designated as follows:

Pedro Esteban González Ovalles (MG) for the Western REDI.

José Gregorio Martínez Campos (MG) at REDI Los Andes.

Royman Antonio Hernández Briceño (MG) in command of the REDI Los Llanos.

Jesús Rafael Villamizar Gómez (MG) in the REDI Central.

Dilio Guillermo Rodríguez Díaz (MG) will head REDI Capital.

Juan Ernesto Sulbarán Quintero (MG) ratified in the REDI Oriental.

Wilfredo Alexander Medrano Machado (MG) for REDI Guayana.

José Rafael Hernández Abchi (ALM) in the Maritime and Insular REDI.

New bosses in the Dgcim and in the Sebin

Likewise, new heads were appointed in the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence, which will also be controlled by Javier Marcano Tábata, and in the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service, headed by Major General Alexis Rodríguez Cabello.
