Today’s Highlights:
World diabetes day is celebrated annually on November 14th.
The country has recorded its 30th double murder after two men were fatally shot near Head Quarters Mini Mart at Hillarie Street, Diego Martin on Wednesday 13th November, 2024.
• The deceased were identified as 27-year-old Kalvin Levine aka “Russian” of Green Hill Village, Diego Martin and 26-year-old Anfernee Rahim Eligon of Savannah Road #1, Diego Martin.
• Another man identified as 39-year-old Mario Charles was also injured during the shooting.
Three suspects allegedly involved in the double homicide in Diego Martin have been captured.
The man who was shot and killed after he reportedly went to kill another man at a house at Stevensville, Las Alturas in Morvant on Sunday, 10th November 2024 has been identified as 26-year-old Hakim Stapleton.
Police shot and killed a man at 8th and 7th Street, Tarodale in San Fernando on Wednesday, 13th November 2024.
• The deceased has been identified as Jordan Charles from Bel Air, La Romaine in San Fernando.
A Venezuelan man died after he was electrocuted at his workplace in Sangre Grande on Tuesday 12th November, 2024.
• The deceased was identified as 30-year-old Oshward Jose Gazcon of Logan Drive, Toco Main Road, Sangre Grande.
A teenage boy was discovered hanging at his home in Brazil Village on Wednesday 13th November, 2024.
• The deceased was identified as 16-year-old Raoul D’Andrade of Brazil Lomé Branch Trace, Brazil Village.
The lifeless body of a man who is yet to be identified was found on the northbound lane of the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway near Seereeram Brothers in Chase Village earlier on Thursday 14th November 2024.
WPC Quianna Mahabir was discharged from the Mt. Hope Hospital a couple of days ago.
Woman Police Constable Jessel Reid-Duncan, badge number 21108, has passed away.
• WPC Reid-Duncan who was last assigned to the Central Division lost her battle with cancer.
A woman has been conning persons their down payments for work to own vehicles.
• The suspect is reportedly using the name ‘Anastacia Brown’ to carry out the schemes.
• The suspect allegedly stole a woman’s identity who she previously scammed with a work-to-own vehicle.
The most recent victim is a 23-year-old man from Tunapuna who went to Trincity Mall Food Court on Saturday 9th November, 2024, where he met a man who claimed to be the husband of Anastasia Browne to purchase a black 141 Toyota Corolla.
• The victim handed over $7000 TT to the said man, who assured him that the vehicle would be delivered to him on Monday 11th November 2024.
• The victim then called the number provided, 309-2917, to enquire about the vehicle and discovered that he had been blocked.
• The suspect was said to be of African Descent, slim built, brown complexion, with a nappy hairstyle.
Cellphone video also surfaced of another incident at the Trincity Mall food court where a man dressed in a green T-shirt was counting money that he collected on behalf of “Anastacia Brown” in another work-to-own scam.
• Additionally, in relation to the video, the guy in the red jersey is Steve Simon and he was scammed with a $7,000 down payment.
• The woman behind the scam, used Steve’s identification documents and opened a ‘fake work-to-own account’ using his name.
A woman was also seen signing a receipt book and a man checking money at Center City Mall in Chaguanas.
