Today’s Highlights:
A total of eight (8) murders were recorded in the country within the last 24 hours.
A man who is yet to be identified was found shot to death near the Mt D’or Secondary School on Thursday 5th September, 2024.
The country has recorded its 5th triple murder after three fishermen identified as 36-year-old Kareem Celestine of Icacos Village, Joshua Sadhoo of Fullerton Village and a Point Fortin fisherman identified only as ‘Darko’ were gunned down in Icacos village, Cedros on Thursday 5th September, 2024.
17-year-old Shenelle Singh and her brother, 21-year-old Keston Joey Singh, both of Solomon Street, Mayaro were chopped to death by a man known to them along Naggee Road in Princes Town on Wednesday 4th September, 2024.
Following the brutal murder of the siblings, the suspect who was identified as Vishnu Rajesh Badal aka “Mr Cutlass Man” of Naggee Trace, New Grant, Princes Town turned himself in earlier on Thursday 5th September, 2024.
Vishnu’s brother, Anderson Badal, who was 23-year-old at the time, was found shot to death along Nagee Trace, New Grant on Friday 8th June, 2012.
The man who died after he was found nursing gunshot wounds at the corner of 4th Street and Upper 6th Avenue, Malick, Barataria on Wednesday 4th September, 2024, has been identified as 49-year-old Anton Mulligan, an MTS worker of Florencia Lane, Upper 6th Avenue, Malick, Barataria.
Following the shooting death of Jamal Watts aka Jammy of Belmont at the St James Medical facility on Wednesday 4th September, 2024, Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds issued a release saying that he had no hand in the employment of Watts at the hospital.
An armed bandit was killed during a shootout with police, following a robbery at a business place at Pierre Road, Caroni Savannah Road, Felicity on Thursday 5th September, 2024.
One bandit was shot while his accomplice was arrested moments after they stabbed and robbed a businessman at his establishment in Cunupia on Wednesday 4th September, 2024.
