Tobago kicks off cruise season with The Ex Ploris One
Tobago has announced the launch of the 2024/2025 cruise season.
A media release for the island’s Division of Culture noted that the first call at the Port of Scarborough happened on Tuesday, November 5.
It said the Ex Ploris One– the first ship for this season brought in 144 passengers as it made its maiden call to the island.
The Division noted further that during this season, there are 40 scheduled calls, from 19 ships, with an estimated 40,000 passengers expected to grace the shores of Tobago.
The release added: “The cruise season will feature a diverse line-up of vessels, welcoming travellers from around the globe to experience Tobago’s breath-taking landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and renowned attractions.”
According to the release, the Division has been deliberate in improving the experience of destination Tobago by holding stakeholder consultations to ensure readiness for the season.
It said additionally, the Division has partnered with the Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute (THTI) to execute refresher courses for frontline staff.
It has also launched the ‘First 10 Selfie Spots in Tobago’ to enhance the visitor experience at some of the popular attractions on the island.
