Tobago mason parts fight, ends up getting robbed
A mason attached to the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) stepped in to break up a confrontation, only to become a victim himself.
Authorities said a 19-year-old man has was held in connection with the incident, which took place at the Store Bay Beach Facility.
According to reports, around 8:30 pm the man, a mason employed with the THA, saw a confrontation between two men. Recognising one of the men, he intervened.
However, one of the men allegedly pulled out a firearm and pointed it at the 34-year-old.
The suspect then allegedly dug into the victim’s bag and stole an estimated $700 in cash as well as other valuables.
The suspect then escaped, running off.
The police were notified, and the suspect – a 19-year-old boat captain from Store Bay Local Road – was arrested shortly after.
