Trinidad and Tobago March for Justice 2013



On July 5th 2013 several trade unions and political parties took to the streets in a peaceful march protesting rampant corruption, nepotism and mismanagement of public money and misbehavior in public office leveled against the governing political party: the People’s Partnership Government.

The march turned out a reported 15,000 to 23,000 people.

Following allegations of corruption and misbehavior leveled against members of the government including but not limited to the Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar, the Attorney General Anand Ramlogan, the former Minister of National Security and ex-Fifa VP Jack Warner.

The march followed revelations that emails may have been sent between government officials since September 2012 which indicate that a conspiracy to pervert the course of justice may have taken place.
