The Trinidad and Tobago hockey men maintained their perfect record in the 2024 Pan American Challenge with a 6-1 victory over Peru at the Andres Avelino Caceres Sports Complex, in the Peruvian capital, Lima, yesterday.

Teague Marcano led the scoring for T&T with four goals while Nicholas Grant scored two goals. Daniel Huanca was the lone goal-scorer for the hosts.

The victory kept T&T on top of the standings with four wins in as many matches while Peru stayed in second place with two wins and two losses.

TTO also recorded wins against Peru (2-0) and Guatemala (9-0) last week before defeating Paraguay 13-0 on Sunday.

Guatemala are currently third on the table following a 1-0 victory over winless Paraguay.

T&T will continue their campaign today when they take on Guatemala from 11.30 p.m., before facing Paraguay on Friday from 11.30 a.m. to complete their round robin schedule.

According to a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Hockey Board (TTHB), the winner of this tourney will be determined on the final day of competition, after the final match, and only one team will qualify for the Pan American Cup, scheduled for July 24 to August 3, 2025, in Montevideo, Uruguay.

The first-placed team will face the second-placed team in the final match of the competition on Saturday, while the third and fourth-placed teams will also square off on the same day.
