The T&T Police Service says several persons are being interviewed and assisting the police in their investigations into a report of a robbery of Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh.
Reports indicate that Deyalsingh, 66, was sitting on a bench outside a bar along King Street, St. Joseph, around 4:55 pm, on
Tuesday, when he was approached by two men, one armed with a firearm.
The gunman pointed the firearm at the victim’s head and announced a robbery. The assailants relieved the victim of a gold-coloured bracelet before making their escape in a green-coloured vehicle.
Officers of the St. Joseph Criminal Investigations Department are continuing investigations.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, ‘Intelligence and Investigations’, Suzette Martin, says the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service strongly condemns the incident and that efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators in the shortest possible time.
