GUARDIAN MEDIA NEWSROOM

TTUTA continues to voice its concerns with issues at the St George’s College in Barataria.

Guardian Media understands that Forms 1 and 2 students were allowed to return for orientation today, but the rest of the school will be back on Wednesday.

Several parents have expressed their dissatisfaction with the condition of the school days prior to the commencement of the new school term.

Today TTUTA told Guardian Media that it did a walk-through of the facility.  The teachers’ union is again underscoring the need for electrical upgrades at the school.

TTUTA also warns of the threat of derelict furniture and debris littered around the compound, and it notes that the Technical Vocational block is still without electricity.

Some $10 million were allocated to repair the school.
