World Stroke Day is observed on October 29th annually to emphasize the serious nature and high rates of stroke, raise awareness of the prevention and treatment of the condition, and ensure better care and support for survivors.

Two parents fought outside the Cedros Secondary School on Monday 28th October 2024 when one of the parents went to inquire about numerous reports of bullying against her daughter.
• One of the parents was armed with a cutlass and appeared to have sustained injuries to the face during the fracas, which was witnessed by school children.
A woman was shot and killed by a man known to her moments after leaving a bar in Cocoyea village, San Fernando early on Monday 28th October, 2024.
• The deceased was identified as 30-year-old Khadijah Hackett of Couva.
Two (2) vehicles were torched in separate incidents in Sangre Grande in June and today, Tuesday 29th October, 2024.
• In the first incident, on June 20th, suspects torched a 2024 Kia Sportage.
• The second incident took place on Tuesday 29th October when suspects torched a Hyundai Elantra.
A teenager from Chatham Village, Cedros, was shot and wounded in Point Fortin on Monday 28th October, 2024.
• According to reports, around 6:30 pm, the 16-year-old boy was at Sunset Beach Road in Point Fortin when he saw two armed men with their faces covered walking from the side of a house.
• The armed men then opened fire on him and ran off.
• The teen raised an alarm and was taken to the Point Fortin Hospital where he was treated for injuries to his left ankle and right instep.
• Point Fortin police are investigating.
ASP Intekab Mohammed passed away at the hospital on Tuesday 29th October 2024.
A student was taken to the hospital following an incident along Jattan Trace, off the Southern Main Road in Point Fortin earlier on Tuesday 29th October, 2024.
