Two killed by police in Tobago
The two men who were shot and killed by police during an incident at a guest house in Tobago on Monday, have been identified as Razeen Quashie and Hakeem Anderson.
The incident reportedly occurred at a popular vacation rental location at Sou Sou Lands at 6.08 pm.
Anderson was said to be 17 years old, while the police have not yet released an age for Quashie. Both men were reported to have been from Golden Lane.
According to reports, officers from the Shirvan Road Police Station and the Criminal Investigations Department were informed that armed men wanted in connection with several shootings on the island had been seen at the location.
Officers claimed they were met by gunfire as they entered the apartment where the men were staying, and they returned fire in keeping with the Use of Force Policy, injuring both men.
The bleeding men were taken to the Scarborough General Hospital, where they were pronounced dead on arrival.
Officers claimed to have recovered the firearms used by the men, which included an AR-15 rifle with 29 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition and a revolver with four rounds of .38 ammunition.
