Opposition activists Renny Rodríguez, training coordinator of the Vente Venezuela (VV) party in the state of Anzoátegui (north), and David Manuel González, activist of the Socialism and Freedom Party (PSL), were detained by security forces and joined the the list of politicians arrested in the country, their organizations reported this Friday.

VV, founded by leader María Corina Machado, demanded through Julio Itriago, a municipal coordinator, was arrested in the same region.

The PSL denounced – in a press release – that González was arrested on September 29 by agents of the Bolivarian National Police of the state of La Guaira (north), and “is being unjustly accused of instigating hatred.”

“David is 23 years old, he is a recently enrolled student at the School of Political and Administrative Studies of the Central University of Venezuela and a fighter for the cause of the working class,” said the socialist party.

The organization explained that the student, detained “after an argument with a police officer” – of which it did not offer more details -, has not “incurred any damage or injuries and that he has only demanded respect for some injustice or the violation of his rights.” rights”.

VV and the PSL demanded “immediate freedom” for “political prisoners” and “people detained for protesting.”

On Wednesday, Machado’s party put the total number of anti-Chavismo politicians detained in the country at 154, among whom are national leaders and people who held elected positions when they were arrested, almost all of them apprehended in the weeks before and after the elections. presidential elections on July 28.
