Following an investigation, agents went to La Mata de Palavecino Avenue, where they arrested two people identified as Yelys Peroza, 47 years old, and Simón Arias, 43 years old, for drug trafficking.

Officials continued their investigation to learn more details about the distribution of fentanyl, which apparently led them to a third person involved, however, no further details were released.

A police source told The Lara Press that the fentanyl ampoules were from Colombia.

This would be one of the largest seizures in the year and the uniformed officers are on the trail of more people who are dedicated to illegally transporting this drug to the state of Lara.

The detained couple was taken to court and detained at the PNB headquarters located west of Barquisimeto.
