Venezuelans around the world demanded the release of detained children

This Sunday, Venezuelans around the world joined a global protest to demand the release of the 70 unjustly detained children by the administration of Nicolás Maduro after the presidential elections.

The demonstrations, organized by Ganó Venezuela in at least 60 citiessought to attract the attention of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Said international organization was urged to take measures in defense of minors detained in the country.

A letter was scheduled to be delivered to Unicef ​​to join the request for the immediate release of the 70 minors, who are in common prisons.

The Venezuelan diaspora was asked to gather in front of Unicef ​​headquarters in foreign cities.

«Today there are 70 children unjustly detained who must be released now. They are not criminals!«, demanded the Venezuelans in Manaus, Brazil.

On social networks, the Mundo Con Vzla account shared images of the protest in cities of Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Sweden, United Kingdom, Spain, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, United States, Netherlands , Israel, Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, Aruba, Denmark, Lithuania, Austria and Norway.

“Since July 28, the Venezuelan regime has intensified a wave of persecution and repression, resulting in multiple human rights violations. Minors have not been immune to this critical situation; To date, 70 cases of children arbitrarily detained in Venezuela have been documented,” Vente Venezuela denounced in a press release.
