Virgin of Chiquinquirá de Aregue returned to her sanctuary in the 18th March of Faith

The early morning of this Sunday, October 6, marked the start of the 18th March of Faithin which the venerated image of the Virgin of Chiquinquirá de Aregue returned to her sanctuary, accompanied by thousands of faithful.

The day began at 4:00 am in the San José de Calasanz parish, under a special blessing given by Monsignor Carlos Curiel, Bishop of the Diocese of Carora.

The route, which extended over 12 kilometers, It attracted pilgrims who gathered in different parts of the city. While some started from the temple of the Piarist fathers, others joined the procession as the image advanced through Francisco de Miranda, 14 de Febrero and Fuerzas Armadas avenues.

During the march, devotion was felt with serenades dedicated to the Morena Virgin. Throughout the journey, the recitation of the holy rosary, the animation of young people and the evangelization by seminarians of the Diocese of Carora set the spiritual tone of the event.

After 9:00 am, the pilgrims were able to see the domes of the sanctuary of the Virgin in Aregue. Less than two kilometers from your final destination, The image was removed from the “chiquimobile” and carried on the shoulders of the faithful, who carried her with great fervor to their temple.

An emotional moment was experienced when the image of Saint Joseph, following tradition, came out to welcome the Virgin upon her arrival on Aregueño soil.

The culmination of the day was marked by a welcome Eucharist, celebrated at 10:00 am by Monsignor Curiel and concelebrated by several priests of the diocesan clergy.
