Wallace pays courtesy call on Minister of Sport
Trinidad and Tobago cyclist Makaira Wallace paid a courtesy call on Minister of Sport and Community Development, Shamfa Cudjoe-Lewis earlier this week.
Wallace won a brace of silver medals at the UCI Junior Track World Championships in Luoyang, China in September.
She was second in the 500m time trial and the women’s keirin.
Minister Cudjoe discussed with Wallace training and her goals in the sport.
The Minister of Sport pledged the support of the Ministry in facilitating her sport and participating in upcoming tournaments.
The Diego Martin-born cyclist is a student of St Joseph’s Convent in Port of Spain.
Wallace won a silver medal in the women’s keirin and a bronze medal in the 500m time trial at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games.
The junior national champion is coached by former T&T Olympic star Njisane Phillip.
