Woman stabbed; son allegedly kidnapped

A woman was stabbed, and her 14-year-old son was allegedly kidnapped this morning in St James. 

Based on initial reports, at about 5am today, officers of the Western Division responded to a report of a disturbance in the area. 

When they arrived, they found a woman bleeding from wounds about her body. 

She informed the police that she had been stabbed by a man from the community and that the man had taken her son and ran into the forested area nearby. 

The injured woman was taken to the St James Medical Complex where she was treated. 

Her condition, based on initial reports, is said to be stable but serious. 

The officers have begun searches for the suspect and the missing 14-year-old.
