Yván Gil accused Borrell of turning the EU into a “decrepit and warlike” institution

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil on Sunday called the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, a “spokesman for evil.” This after the latter described the country as a “spokesman for evil.” “dictatorial” and “authoritarian” to the Executive of Nicolás Maduro.

“When we say the garbage dump of history, we are referring to the place where Borrell is now. From interview to interview, spokesman for evil. A withdrawal from politics with his hands stained with blood, doubly failed in his attempts to harm the Venezuelan people, inventing fictitious governments,” the official said on Telegram.

He also said that Borrell leaves a “dark legacy” turning the EU into a “decrepit, colonialist and warlike institution”.

What Josep Borrell said that provoked Yván Gil’s response

With this message, the foreign minister is responding to the statements made by the European official in which he referred to the departure from the country of the flag bearer of the majority opposition, Edmundo González Urrutia – in Spain for a week, where he has requested asylum – and also to the “thousand limitations” to which – he said – political parties are subject.

“What do you call all this? Well, naturally this is a dictatorial, authoritarian, dictatorial regime.”stressed the head of European diplomacy in an interview with Telecinco, broadcast on the Spanish news this Sunday.

The European Union has not recognized Nicolás Maduro’s victory as legitimate proclaimed by the National Electoral Council (CNE) in the presidential elections of July 28, since the minutes that accredit it have not been published, although it has not recognized González Urrutia as the winner, despite the calls of the majority anti-Chavez movement, which claims the victory of its standard-bearer.

Last August, the Venezuelan government accused Borrell of supporting a “fascist coup” in the Caribbean country, after he published what Caracas called a “dirty statement” in which he claimed that the “necessary public evidence” had not been provided to declare Maduro re-elected president.
