Two killed by police in Tobago

The two men who were shot and killed by po­lice dur­ing an in­ci­dent at a guest house in To­ba­go on Mon­day, have been iden­ti­fied as Razeen Quashie and Ha­keem An­der­son.

The in­ci­dent re­port­ed­ly oc­curred at a pop­u­lar va­ca­tion rental lo­ca­tion at Sou Sou Lands at 6.08 pm.

An­der­son was said to be 17 years old, while the po­lice have not yet re­leased an age for Quashie. Both men were re­port­ed to have been from Gold­en Lane.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, of­fi­cers from the Shir­van Road Po­lice Sta­tion and the Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment were in­formed that armed men want­ed in con­nec­tion with sev­er­al shoot­ings on the is­land had been seen at the lo­ca­tion.

Of­fi­cers claimed they were met by gun­fire as they en­tered the apart­ment where the men were stay­ing, and they re­turned fire in keep­ing with the Use of Force Pol­i­cy, in­jur­ing both men.

The bleed­ing men were tak­en to the Scar­bor­ough Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal, where they were pro­nounced dead on ar­rival.

Of­fi­cers claimed to have re­cov­ered the firearms used by the men, which in­clud­ed an AR-15 ri­fle with 29 rounds of 5.56mm am­mu­ni­tion and a re­volver with four rounds of .38 am­mu­ni­tion.
